This is only for removing a solid color background.
Step 1 and 2 are launch Photoshop and open image of Sim you want background color removed in.
Step 3: Once you have your image loaded, click on create new layer.
Step 4: The new layer will appear above your original image, move it down below your image by dragging it
Steps 5-7: Select the Eraser tab and select the Background Eraser Tool. Highlight you original image. Check to make sure you have the selection as shown below.
Step 8: Place your mouse pointer over the background color and hold down on the left pad continuously to begin removing the background color. Notice how all the strands of hair are left untouched. If you must let go of the mouse while removing the background, simply place your mouse pointer over the background color and press the left mouse pad again.
Step 9:Once the background is completely erased your image should look like mine below. It is normal to have the colored outline. In the next step I will show you how to fix that.
Step 10: Create another new layer, leaving this one on top of your original image. Press on your Alt key on your keyboard and hover over the new layer until you see a arrow pointing down to your image, then click on the new layer locking it to your image. Make sure the new layer (layer 2) is highlighted and the mode above it is set to Hue and select the Paint brush tool Next left click over the lightest part of the hair and select that color from the color boxes (make sure it is set to Foreground and not background). Hold the paint brush icon over the hair you wish to color and paint. You will need to grab the color of skin and clothing if needed to cover the background outline left.
Final step: Your final project should look like below.
Saved and placed on background.
